Bethany Kohrt

Bethany Kohrt is a contemporary artist living and working in the Wiltshire countryside. Her practice moves between internal and external landscapes, drawing on childhood memories of indigo-dyed textiles and the rural landscape that surrounds her today.

Working across drawing, dye and painting, Bethany builds layered surfaces through intuitive mark-making, exploring memory, belonging and loss. Indigo acts as both a pigment and a personal anchor, while the changing Wiltshire landscape provides a context for her exploration of fragility, ecological change and ruination. Beauty and devastation become intertwined within her work, creating a quiet visual language of remembrance and grief.

Bethany studied Fine Art at Camberwell College of Art and Newcastle University, and undertook Contemporary Art Studies at the Royal College of Art. In 2025 she completed an MA in Fine Art at Central Saint Martins, UAL, graduating with Distinction. She was nominated for the MullenLowe NOVA Award and received the Pinsent Masons x CSM Award for Excellence.

Bethany's solo show runs 24 March - 10 April 2027.
