Catriona Tyrwhitt is an artist, illustrator and calligrapher. She has recently branched out from illustration commissions into oil painting and particularly “en plein air” painting. She is particularly interested in capturing light and shadow in her work. Whether it’s an en plein air piece: she wants to try and depict the time of day or year or an interior setting: where the light can change the entire ambience and warmth of the painting.

Catriona’s illustration clients include the BBC, Ralph Lauren, Boden and members of the Royal Household, producing wedding stationery for HRH Princess Beatrice. Previously, she worked in arts marketing: programming events for sponsors of major arts institutions such as Tate Galleries, the National Portrait Gallery and the Royal Opera House.
