Kira Torrens-Spence is an artist based in Sharcott, Wiltshire, whose practice explores the everyday—objects, people and their relationship to the world around them. Her work seeks to uncover emotional depth within familiar subjects, balancing thoughtful observation with a sense of playfulness and energy.

Her figurative paintings depict figures seemingly suspended in time and space, while her still lifes explore a more subversive side of the genre. Drawing on the historical relationship between women, sexuality and the art world, Kira plays with established visual narratives, using colour and composition to create atmosphere and evoke an emotional response.

Kira studied Fine Art before spending 16 years as an Army Officer. She returned to her artistic practice in 2022, with emotion becoming increasingly central to her work. Alongside painting, Kira is a trained Integrative Arts Psychotherapist and runs Old Dairy Studio, where she teaches and facilitates art workshops.

Kira's solo show runs from 4th March - 21 March 2027.
