Anne Swift, a talented painter and illustrator showcased in the MADE in the Pewsey Vale community collective, seamlessly blends her background in architecture with her artistic pursuits. Her expertise in architecture has honed her impeccable drawing skills and instilled in her a deep appreciation for light and place, ultimately guiding her towards the captivating world of painting in recent years.
ABOUT Rooted in Place
Anne captures the essence of the Wiltshire countryside, where she lives. But much like a swift, Anne flies south to Cape Town in winter, drawing inspiration from its vibrant landscapes and unique light, further enriching her artistic vision and transforming her architectural inspiration into stunning works of art.
Anne's roots here in Wiltshire have led her to explore the myriad of green tones which saturate the landscape, subtly shifting with the seasons. She concentrates on painting views and scenes close to home: Martinsell, the hedgerows, little lanes and patchworks of fields. Her house on top of a hill above Wootton Rivers gifts her endless views from every aspect. It's no wonder she is compelled to paint.
