Winter Collective
Group Show
17 December 2024 - 25 January 2025
Brightening the dark winter days, this unique collaborative exhibition with Pewsey Vale wallpaper and fabric studio, Barneby Gates, brought together art and design in a fresh and inspiring way.
Barneby Gates was a renowned brand, celebrated for its personal approach. MADE was absolutely delighted to partner with Barneby Gates to present the Winter Collective Show. Featuring artworks from 20 artists, a narrative was curated around theme, colour, and form. In the darkest season, MADE aimed to give Pewsey Vale a joyful space to escape the cold and shine a light on local artists and designers.

Barneby Gates
Barney Gates’ wallpaper designs blend bold pattern with a refined, graphic sensibility. Inspired by nature, folklore, and traditional craftsmanship, his work transforms interiors with striking, contemporary motifs. Each design balances intricate detail with a sense of space, creating wallpapers that feel both timeless and modern, elevating any environment with character and depth.

Landscape
Pewsey Vale’s rolling hills, ancient woodlands, and ever-changing light have long inspired landscape artists. Its rich, seasonal colours and dramatic skies provide endless material for exploration, from sweeping panoramas to intimate natural details. The area’s history and sense of place infuse artworks with depth, capturing the timeless beauty of Wiltshire’s countryside.

Still life
Still life in modern British painting blends tradition with contemporary expression, transforming everyday objects into bold, dynamic compositions. Artists experiment with colour, abstraction, and perspective, moving beyond realism to explore mood and narrative. This evolution keeps the genre fresh, offering a unique lens on domesticity, culture, and artistic innovation.
