MADE is delighted to welcome Wiltshire artist Sam Travers for his first exhibition with us, Field Work: a collection of expressive oil paintings which explore the emotional experience of the Wiltshire landscape rather than its physical description. Inspired by the chalklands surrounding his home, he uses rich impasto, instinctive colour and energetic brushwork to evoke changing light, seasons and atmosphere, inviting viewers to feel the landscape as much as see it.
Sam has been working full time as an artist since 2017. He has exhibited in London and regional galleries and also exhibitions including the Royal West of England Academy and the Bath Society of Artists. He studied History of Art at UCL and Paper Conservation at Camberwell and went on to become a Specialist in 19th Century Paintings for Bonhams Auctioneers before turning to painting full time.
We will be able to share the catalogue of works ahead of the exhibition, with all enquiries to info@madeinthepewseyvale.com.
