Cathy Pearce

Cathy Pearce is a landscape painter known for her colourful depictions of the Wiltshire

countryside. Happy working both en plein air and in the studio, using soft pastel daily allows

Cathy to develop a close bond with her medium.

She often describes how she caresses the pastel dust with her fingertips until convincing clouds take shape. Besides creating exciting blended textures, Cathy enjoys celebrating the spontaneous and uncontrollable nature of pastels with expressive impressionistic marks.

You can see Cathy in both series 10 and 11 of Sky Arts Landscape Painter of the Year having

been both wildcard and pod artist.
